Newbie Artist Training Grounds II: Day 27 - Pony charging
[link] - No. 87

Yet again nameless pony, this time saving citizens of Equestria from certain doom.
Trying out some new coloring techniques, just to have something up in the sleeve in case I might need it.

It looks fantastic! I very like her mane and tail - it is just great! It would be nice if you would do more like this in the future.

Also the pose...it's very dynamic and realistic!
I just spotted the eyes...is there anything not great in this drawing? Of course not! Good work!

Very interesting concept, and I notice that her hair has no outline to it. Did you actually color in the hair with no guidelines? That must have been difficult, but it looks like you colored them in very well and each individual stroke actually looks like a strand of hair! Amazing! I like how you also drew the water sheild be used against the fire. I like it!

I actually had some outline underneath it and it could be seen really faintly mostly in the hair area, but basically it's lots of lines coming as a stream of lines. I like the result too, though I could work some more on the fire and draw this picture on bigger paper too, I just couldn't fit longer tail here, maybe next time ;)

Greatly appreciated ;)
Sadly I don't know where waterbenders would come from. I know there's anime with airbenders but I don't watch anime intentionally. But the term waterbender seems to define her talent so it should be similiar to one.

its from avatar the last airbender (TLAB) and avatar the legend of korra.
the premise is that peticular people have attachments to a certain element (water, earth, fire, air) and can manipulate their element telekineticly. Then there is an avatar that is continuously reencarnated that can manipulate all 4 elements

Its like americanized anime. the animation quality is really high for anime especially in the later episodes
TLAB from 2005-2008 and is a bit more childish but becomes more serious as the show moves on
Korra was a reboot that aired earlier this year. It is a lot darker (although still child friendly b/c it airs on Nick) and i would say more serious
I would highly recommend you watch at least one of the series. The last airbender is 3 seasons with 20 episodes each and not every episode is related to the main story.
The legend of korra(so far) is 1 season with 12 episode and every episode relates to the main plot. So if you choose to watch some episodes, you might want to watch korra first b/c it is shorter
You can pick up korra without watching TLAB but you might wanna do some background because it takes place about 80 years after TLAB ends and it makes slight references to the characters and what the world used to be like.

In my opinion it is the best show aired on television (although i never watched shows such as Dragon Ball Z which a few of my friends try to compare it to and i do not have a wide range of shows that i watched)

Also if you do decide to watch the show, make sure you watch the episodes in order because its a storyline. All the episodes can be found on nick.com i believe.

but thats just my recommendation =) do whatever you want

Really thanks. My friend told my so much otherwise that I should look on some real horse running animation because she looks like she's going to trip over something. I certainly like your feedback more alsol; Thanks (Ďakujem) =3

I love how you colored the slight blue reflection from the water, a lot of artists neglect that. Awesome job on the mane and as always, superb shading :)
